What Does Love Really Have to Do With It?

Love Is Seeing In Another Person What You Want To Give Them
What's love got to do, got to do with it?
What does love really got to do with it? That’s the question. And I’ll tell you what love is.
Love is seeing in another person what you want to give them. Surprise, surprise it is not the opposite.
If you look at another person and focus on what they can do for you, what they can offer you, what you can take from them or what they can give you, that may be many things. But it definitely is not love.
Love has to do with soul recognition. The rest is often made up of thought forms: ideas established, created and reproduced by us, but largely shaped by a society that has very specific rules about what makes someone “husband material” or “wife material.” Even those phrases sound strange, don’t they?
Husband material. Wife material.
See what I mean?
Love Is More Than Attraction
Love does not even have to do with physical appearance. That is attraction.
But to love someone is to see, every time you look at them, what you want to give them. And the same is true in return. Because when you find the person in whom you recognise everything you want to give, rest assured that this person will also recognise in you everything they want to give.
Boom. That is a match. Nothing else is a match.
Two People Who Both Want to Give
When you have that, you have everything. You have two people who both want to give to one another, and this giving does not end. The source never runs dry. Love is the resource from which everything else can grow. Love is resourceful.
Modern society, modern relationships and family dynamics often teach us the opposite. They teach us that resources are material and that we should choose our partners according to what they possess or can provide.
No. Love, and I will repeat myself, is seeing in another person what you want to give them.
There are no strings attached. No expectations. No attachments. No calculated philosophy of give and take.
Nothing of the kind.
Love Is Soul Recognition
When one soul recognises another and finds the person to whom it naturally wants to give, that person will also want to give in return. This is endless. This is abundant. And this is the equality you may have been looking for.
Not two people keeping score. Not two people measuring who gave more. But two people who both come from the will to give.
Think about it. Really think about it.
So, what’s love got to do with it?
With taking? Nothing.
With giving? Everything.
